Briat donates to YMCA

Briat Insurance is proud to have provided a donation to the YMCA of the Cayman Islands, as part of their annual Caring Campaign fundraiser for 2019. Each year, the YMCA relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to support their work and provide programmes and services, especially for those who require financial assistance. Their motto, “Let nothing stand between a child and success” is something Briat fully believes in and is proud to support. Funds raised for the YMCA go towards supporting the YCMA’s work with children and teens most in need during critical after school hours and school breaks by giving to EASP, Teen Leaders, and Day Camp.

Through the EASP, the YMCA serves up to 1,600 students from public schools across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, creating a safe place to build confidence as well as social and emotional awareness. Teen Leaders reaches young people aged 13 -17, helping them develop important leadership skills, while Y Day Camp provides a fun, nurturing atmosphere to learn and grow. The YMCA teaches and reinforces core values inspiring our young people to reach their full potential, building character that lasts a lifetime. Briat looks forward to seeing the wonderful work the YMCA of the Cayman Islands continues to do with Cayman’s youth.

Briat sponsors 2019 Cayman Islands Triathlon

Briat Insurance has once again supported the Cayman Islands Triathlon. The annual event was held on 4th November 2019 and saw hundreds of participants. The Cayman Islands Triathlon Association (CITA) is run by athletes for athletes. The committee consists of marathon runners, cyclists, long distance swimmers, duathletes, triathletes and iron men and women. Most importantly they are passionate for sports. CITA puts their all into each and every event so athletes can compete and enjoy.

CITA holds over 9 events each year designed to test stamina and build endurance, including the 3-week Stroke & Stride series, Try This Tri, and the Cayman Islands Duathlon. These events all lead up to the highly anticipated Cayman Islands Triathlon. Proceeds from all CITA events are used to support and grow local sports and foster young triathletes by building a network of coaches, investing in training and competition, and financially supporting athletes in attending & representing Cayman in events off island. A portion of proceeds from all CITA events are donated to a designated charity.

Briat admires CITA support for athletics and local youth and is pleased to be a two-time sponsor. Members of the Briat team were also present at the Cayman Islands Triathlon to provide support for participants and man a water stop station along the route. The Briat team thoroughly enjoyed their time at the event and look forward to seeing CITA continue sharing their passion for sports and health in the Cayman community.
